Diving into the Deep End: My Beginnings

My story begins at the University of Missouri, where I took the plunge into the world of 10-meter platform diving. Standing on that platform, staring down at the water below, was a mix of exhilaration and terror—a feeling that would come to define much of my later adventures. Diving taught me about precision, fear, and the thrill of defying gravity. Those early days of leaping into the unknown were a perfect prelude to the adventures that lay ahead.

Chasing Waves: From Diving Boards to Surfboards

After college, I traded in my diving board for a surfboard and set off on a quest for the perfect wave. My travels took me through the wild and colorful landscapes of Latin America, where the surf culture was as vibrant as the sunsets. Each wave was a new challenge, each break a new adventure. But the journey didn’t stop there.

So, why follow my journey? Because it’s all about celebrating the extraordinary in the everyday. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Summit County has something incredible to offer. From hidden spots to thrilling adventures, I’m here to guide you through it all with a touch of humor and a lot of passion.

Following my surf senses and the recommendations of fellow wave riders, I found myself on a remote island in Indonesia—Rote Island. It was here that I had the incredible opportunity to be mentored by Felipe Pomar, the world’s first big wave surfing champion. Felipe’s wisdom and the powerful waves of Rote Island reshaped my approach to surfing and life. Those months spent riding the big swells were transformative, teaching me the art of patience and perseverance in both the surf and in life.

Brazilian Rhythms and Surfing Dreams

My surf journey continued with a move to Florianópolis, Brazil, where I spent two years immersed in the local surf scene. Florianópolis is a paradise of endless waves and laid-back vibes, and it was here that I honed my skills, met incredible people, and experienced the beauty of Brazilian culture. The surf was always calling, and every session was a dance with the ocean, full of rhythm and freedom.

A New Chapter: Summit County, Colorado

After years of chasing waves and seeking new thrills, I found myself drawn to the mountains of Summit County, Colorado. It was love at first sight. The snow-capped peaks, the crisp mountain air, and the endless outdoor adventures—it felt like a perfect fit. Summit County has quickly become one of the most beautiful and consistently fun places I’ve ever lived. Here, I’ve found a new playground, and I’m excited to share it with you.

Summit County Living: My Passion Project

With my background in photography and a deep love for adventure, I started Summit County Living to capture and share the magic of this incredible place. I’m all about blending stunning visuals with local insights, and my photography is a key part of that. I focus on black and white imagery because it allows the true essence of a scene to shine through without the distraction of color.
